Curating Career Life Stories: How Did I Get Here? Episode 26 – An interview with Rob Ham
Join me for the career story reflections of Rob Ham, Principal & Owner of Rob-Ham Marketing Communications. His journey starts with a move to NYC to pursue his dream of being an actor, where he lands a week-long stint on a soap opera and a few off, off, off Broadway theater gigs. But his dream is disrupted in his early twenties with a serious medical diagnosis bringing him back to his family in Colorado.
Hear how he turns a temp position as a receptionist into the Director of Business Development by tapping into his ability to connect with people. He admires the approach of one of the partners who models how to be honest, have integrity, connect with people and make money! An approach he adopts that serves him well through a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit marketing roles. He’s now pursuing a new dream, starting his own marketing firm giving him flexibility to spend more time with his family. And, more time to write — EVERYDAY – which is his ultimate dream job — to become a full time writer! Words of wisdom from Rob: “Love yourself, love others, know that you’re not alone (ever!), and be productive in this world!”
