After a variety of technology positions leave him feeling bored and unfulfilled, he realizes he’s been placing the responsibility of his career growth with his employers and educators. Taking a totally different approach, he stumbles on a tool that helps him see that programming is really about solving puzzles. Once he solves that first programming puzzle, he’s totally jazzed and wanting to solve more. However, he must first overcome his long-standing belief about programmers — that he’s not smart enough. Then he’s on fire, learning the basics, networking to find out what he needs to know, and now in control of his new career.
