Curating Career Life Stories: How Did I Get Here? Episode 89 – An interview with Maggie Drucker
Join me for the career reflections of Maggie Drucker, chief relationship officer for ProsperBridge & queen of culture for RISE. She’s at her best when managing a half dozen priorities and activities all at once. She discovers this in college and that it’s a theme throughout her life.
Maggie finds a career in HR by always being willing to take things on, she never thinks that’s not my job. Because of her social and inquisitive nature, she’s drawn to people and wanting to help them be more productive. After rising the ranks of HR in a variety of companies and industries, she reaches a reflection point and takes a year off to backpack through Europe and walks the Camino de Santiago in Spain. An instrumental time in her life creating a lot of internal peace and confidence.
What’s served her best is being inquisitive and trying to make a difference, not sitting back and waiting for someone else to do it. Maggie’s words of wisdom: “If you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always have what you’ve always had. I want to be comfortable financially AND have a lot of great life experiences. I can make that happen and everyone can make that happen for themselves. You just have to pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and make it happen.”
